Junior Softball World Series

Niceville-Valparaiso Junior Softball had an incredible run this year, making it all the way to the Junior League Softball World Series semi-finals in Kirkland, WA. At the World Series, NVLL opened with a tough 1-4 loss to Bago City, Philippines. They bounced back with an exciting 9-8 walkoff win in extra innings against Hudsonville, MI. They followed up with another 5-4 walkoff win against Victoria, BC and closed out pool play with an 11-0 win against Kirkland, WA.

In the knockout rounds, they soundly beat Prague, CZ 9-2 in the quarter-finals but came up short against Milford, CT 0-5 in the semi-finals. They bounced back with a 5-3 win over Sealy, TX in the Runner-up Championship game. Their only two losses this year were to the two teams playing in the World Series Championship game. This is the farthest ANY team, boys or girls, from District 1 has gone since RL Turner 10-12 baseball went to Williamsport in 1996.

To earn their ticket to the World Series, NVLL breezed through the Southeast Regional Tournament, run-ruling all of their opponents: North Carolina 11-1, West Virginia 19-0, Virginia 11-1, North Carolina 13-1.
